4 Ogos 2025 | Rogadius azizahae or Baji Azizah is named in honour of Professor Dr. Siti Azizah Mohd Nor for her significant contributions in the field of molecular ecology and her dedication in enhancing our understanding of fish biodiversity and conservation, particularly in Malaysia and the surrounding region. The holotype specimen was discovered during a survey of demersal fisheries resources with the Malaysian Fisheries Department using the research vessel MV SEAFDEC 2 from SEAFDEC Bangkok in 2016. The specimen is now housed at the South China Sea Reference and Repository Centre, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT). This discovery was also assisted by 2 other researchers, namely Dr Tun Nurul Aimi Mat Jaafar & Assoc. Prof. Dr Seah Ying Giat from the Faculty of Fisheries and Aquaculture Sciences.
