11-13 September 2025| Bidong Island Nature Research Station. Learning is Not Just in the Classroom. As early as the first semester, UMT Diploma in Fisheries students were taken to Bidong Island for fieldwork activities. Through three basic courses Fish Biology, Fisheries Science and Aquatic Invertebrate Biology they not only listened to theory, but also continued to touch, see and experience real experiences in the field. Nature is their laboratory. This is the uniqueness of studying at UMT, hands-on exposure starting from the very beginning to produce graduates who are knowledgeable, skilled and ready to contribute to the fisheries industry and the sustainability of the country’s aquatic resources.
