Sustainability Session at Tasik Kenyir

KUALA TERENGGANU, May 6 – The Faculty of Fisheries and Aquaculture Sciences (FSPA), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) continues to be committed to strengthening management efficiency and the well-being of its employees through the organization of the Sustainability Session for Management and Support Staff held at Tasik Kenyir, today.

The one-day program involving 40 participants among professional management and support staff was held at the UMT Research and Field Service Center, as a human capital development initiative in line with the university’s aspirations.

According to Dr Azman as the program organizer, this session aims to strengthen teamwork, improve effective communication and foster the value of togetherness in a more relaxed and conducive atmosphere outside the office environment.

“Organizing this program not only provides space for employees to interact more openly, but also helps improve motivation and mental and emotional well-being of employees,” he said.

Throughout the program, participants were exposed to various activities including management sharing sessions, interactive group activities and team building activities held at the UMT Research and Field Center, Tasik Kenyir and Pulau Herba. This experiential learning approach is seen to be able to strengthen understanding of their respective roles and responsibilities.

The selection of Tasik Kenyir as the program location also coincides with the concept of sustainability that is highlighted, in addition to providing a natural environment that refreshes the mind and increases the productivity of participants.

This program is a follow-up to the decision of the FSPA Management Meeting held last January, which agreed to approve the organization of the session as a strategic platform to strengthen a high-performance work culture.

The organization of this Sustainable Session is hoped to support UMT’s comprehensive human capital development agenda, thus strengthening the faculty’s ability to face future challenges and enhance organizational excellence.
