Assalammualaikum and Salam Sejahtera| A practical session of the Fish Health Management course by Fisheries Certificate students was conducted at the Aquatic Organism Health Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Aquaculture Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT).
Through this session, students were exposed to bacterial identification techniques using the Gram staining method. In addition, students also had the opportunity to use the modern technology Automated Microfluidic qPCR System for the purpose of diagnosing fish diseases quickly and efficiently.
This exposure provided students with the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in real situations in the laboratory, thus increasing their understanding in the field of fish health in a more practical and technology-based way.
The Malaysian Fisheries Academy (APM) would like to express its highest appreciation to Prof. Dr. Najiah binti Musa, Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Aquaculture Sciences, UMT; En. Baharim bin Mustapa (Science Officer); Dr Mohd Azman bin Yusof (Fisheries Officer); and the entire laboratory team for their cooperation and support in making this practical session a success.
Hopefully this cooperation can continue in strengthening training and improving student competencies in the field of fisheries.
